Preparation is the key to a beautiful, maintainable, long lasting paint job.

Your home or business building is one of the biggest investments you will make. Proper maintenence and protection of it should be a high priority. An unmaintained property will lose value, scare away customers, is an eyesore, can be hazardous to your health and is a reflection on it’s owners. Here in the Tongass rain forest of Southeast Alaska, mold, mildew, moss and fungus are a constant concern and a detrement to your unprotected building. Moss and mildew can be as slippery as ice on your sidewalks, decks and roof, and can result in accidents and injuries for you or your guests that could be very costly. Besides being unsightly and hazardous, they are constantly growing and deteriorating your paint, stain, shingles and many other surfaces. For a long lasting and beautiful finish, these surfaces need to be properly cleaned and every step taken to prevent their re-growth. This can be done with a combination of bio-degradable chemicals and pressure cleaning.

To prevent and/ or slow the re-growth, proper preparation of the building must be done. It is also neccesary to do this to be able to properly maintain the finish coat, thereby gaining the most value for your dollar and preserving that freshly painted appearance for as long as possible. Proper preparation includes, among other things, applicable primers, caulking, zinc strips, drip edge and the correct application or installation of these items. The proper top coats and color choices are also important to longevity and value. A properly prepared and painted building can actually increase in value much higher than the cost of having these procedures done, provided that they were done properly. Skimping on preparation is never a good idea. It defeats the purpose and will cost you much more in the long run.

Let us help you preserve, maintain and increase the beauty and value of your home or building.
